Padel Z
A padel rally in an indoor hall that turns into a zombie outbreak. Keep the ball alive and every zombie it touches explodes. Drop it, and they eat you.

How to play
Drag to move, or use WASD or the arrow keys. You never press to hit. Hitting is automatic, so your only job is being in the right place.
Story mode starts as one normal point at the club. Then the lights go, and it teaches you as you play. Horde skips all that and drops you straight into the outbreak. There is no winning. Only a number.
How we built it
My nephew Raff asked me, "Uncle Adam, do you make games? Can we make one?" I already knew I wanted to build a padel game with zombies in it, but Raff, who's 8, is the one who made it mega. He thought up the power-ups, fixed the ball physics, and added the level bosses and character customisation. We started on a Friday and finished on the Monday.
It's written in TypeScript and draws to an HTML canvas, with no game engine and no runtime dependencies. That comes to about 10,000 lines across 43 files, forked from Ton Up Cricket: Zombies Edition, which gave it the same 16-bit world, sprite pipeline and horde. The whole game, sprites and sounds included, is 1.1 MB.
The player above is part of the work too. Each game sits in a block in my CMS. I upload the build and it goes live, with no site deploy. See the other games.

You don't press anything. Hitting is automatic, so your only job is being in the right place.
No. There is no winning, only a number. Keep the rally alive for as long as you can and see how many zombies you take with you.
Adam Jackson of Headless Digital, with his 8-year-old nephew Raff, who came up with the power-ups, the level bosses and the character customisation.
It has cartoon pixel gore, because the zombies explode. An 8-year-old helped design it, but you know your own kids best.
