WordPress Developer in Leeds
Senior WordPress consultant with 15+ years keeping WordPress and WooCommerce sites fast, secure and stable. I work directly with businesses across Leeds and West Yorkshire.
I've been building and supporting WordPress sites since 2009. Certified developer, former Head of Development and Technical Director across several agencies. These days I work directly with the business, not through a layer of account managers and project managers.
If you run a WordPress site in Leeds and something isn't right, you talk to me. The person who actually does the work.
Supporting WordPress Sites Across Leeds and West Yorkshire
Leeds has one of the strongest retail and ecommerce scenes outside London, alongside a deep base of professional services in law, finance and recruitment. A lot of those businesses run WordPress, and plenty run busy WooCommerce stores that started small and grew over the years.
I help retailers, online stores and professional firms across Leeds, Wakefield and the wider city region keep those sites quick, secure and dependable, whether the site is a shop window, a lead generator or a full WooCommerce checkout.
Common WordPress Problems I'm Called In To Fix
These are the issues that usually start a conversation.
Slow WooCommerce
A store that drags on category and checkout pages, especially during a sale or a busy run-up to Christmas. The expensive thing to get wrong, and often fixable without a rebuild.
A Slow Site
Pages that load slowly and cost you both visitors and search ranking. Often a heavy theme, poor caching or plugin bloat building up over the years.
Hacked or Insecure
A site that's been compromised, or one you're worried about with customer data on it. I clean it up properly and close the holes rather than papering over them.
Plugin Conflicts
Plugins fighting each other, breaking the basket or the checkout, or throwing errors. Sorting this out takes a real understanding of how WordPress fits together.
Broke After an Update
A core, theme or plugin update that left the store misbehaving or down. I find what changed and get you selling again without making it worse.
A Bad Handover
A previous developer or agency left, with no documentation and custom code nobody understands. I work out what's there and make it maintainable again.
Support and Maintenance for WordPress
Not every site needs rebuilding. Most need a senior pair of eyes to find the real issues, put them in order, and fix them properly rather than patching over them.
I offer ongoing WordPress and WooCommerce support on a basis that suits you, from the occasional bit of help through to regular maintenance, backups, updates and security checks. No retainer you don't need, no junior cutting their teeth on your live store.
If It's Time to Move On
Most WordPress sites are worth keeping and looking after. With proper care, WordPress and WooCommerce run well for years, and the sensible answer is usually to fix what's there rather than start again.
Now and then a lighter setup genuinely makes more sense for the size and shape of a business. If you're near that point I'll show you honestly what moving would involve, and plenty of the time the honest answer is stay put. Either way you get a straight view, not a push.
Why Work With a Consultant, Not an Agency
A different model for businesses that value directness and accountability.
One Senior Consultant
You work with me directly. No junior developers learning on your project, no game of telephone through an account manager.
Direct Communication
Questions get answered by the person doing the work. Nothing gets lost between teams, because there's only one of me.
Honest Recommendations
I'll tell you when WordPress is the right choice and when it isn't. My job is to advise you well, not to sell you the biggest project.
Accountability
When something goes wrong there's no finger-pointing between departments. I take responsibility and I sort it.
